The end of the year is getting close, and because of that we want to look back on last years highlights. New EU emission regulations for non-road mobile machinery (NRMM) came into effect in 2019, new future-proof products were launched, and we also unveiled the new company logo and visual branding style for the first time.

New emission requirements
European legislation requires both petrol and diesel engines to comply with specific norms. These standards have been tightened, particularly concerning the emission of pollutants. From 2020, industrial engines that emit too many harmful substances will no longer be available commercially, so last year we have worked hard to find cleaner alternatives. The aim of this measure is to significantly reduce the amount of particulate matter and nitrous oxides. We already have an alternative available for a number of engines. For example our future proof UrbanJet with a cleaner diesel engine. Besides that we’ve launched the ProfiJet T4 with built in Diesel Particle Filter, our most powerful and emission compliant jetting machine in its class. We also worked on emissions compliant models for our popular CityJet van-pack range. We introduced the CityJet PTO (Power Take-Off) and CityJet Petrol.

In April we visited the CV Show in Birmingham. The star of the show was the new RioCom 7.5T Combination Unit. The new vehicle utilises a PTO (Power Take-off) drive unit, which converts power from an emissions compliant vehicle engine to operate jetting and vacuum pumps. Besides that, the PTO will make the RioCom automatically compliant for the Stage V emission requirements.

eCityJet Drain Jetter

The world’s first high-performance electric van-pack jetter
The eCityJet was launched in May 2019 and the company has been running trials of the new machine with contractors in Europe. One of the key design requirements for the eCityJet was to match the performance of the diesel-powered model. The electric version features a strong electric motor powered by an extremely efficient battery pack. It is ideally suited for use in city centres where strict emission requirements apply and in areas that are completely or partially enclosed. Models are expected to be available to purchase in the first quarter of 2020, with interest for the eCityJet growing among utility companies and contractors.

Exhibitions and events
Last year we visited several exhibitions and events. Beside our stands at the WWETT show, Ro-Ka-Tech and Commercial Vehicle Show, we have visited various stands from our distributors around the world. For example, we were present at exhibitions in China, Italy, Spain and Denmark.

Prior to these exhibitions and the introduction of our new product line, all international distributors were invited to the Rioned dealer event in April. During these days they got the opportunity to get a sneak preview of what we would introduce worldwide the following month. We’re very greatful that so many distributors show their commitment and involvement in the sale and support of Rioned products.

New brand identity
Alongside launching new products, we also unveiledthe new company logo and visual brandingstyle for the first time. Our new brand identity is more modern and is characterized by the dark blue color. The different product categories still have the same recognizable colors. A new brand identity also includes new signage. That is why our offices in Thetford (UK), Keighley (UK) and Tilburg also got a make-over.
