The Honda iGX800 Engine and Speck Triplex Pump: Powering the Next Generation AquaJet

AquaJet-25-Engine-Blog-Header

At the centre of the new Rioned AquaJet is the Honda iGX800, a next-generation engine engineered for reliability, fuel efficiency, and intelligent performance. But in a high-pressure jetting machine, the engine is only half the story - the pump is equally critical. The AquaJet pairs the iGX800 with a Speck triplex plunger pump featuring an automatic bypass function, creating a system designed for maximum jetting power, robustness, and reliability.

Smarter by Design

The Honda iGX800 replaces traditional carburettor technology with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI). This ensures easier starting, even in cold conditions, while optimising fuel delivery for a more efficient output. The result is reduced fuel consumption, fewer emissions, and smoother day-to-day operation.

Integrated ECU and CAN Bus communication allow advanced machine control, remote diagnostics, and seamless integration with Rioned’s eControl+ interface. Operators benefit from real-time data and automated adjustments that maintain consistent performance under varying workloads.

At the heart of the jetting system, the Speck triplex plunger pump converts the engine’s power into high-pressure water flow. Its robust German engineering ensures long service life, smooth operation, and reliable output, even under demanding conditions.

The pump’s automatic bypass function safeguards the system by diverting water back to the tank whenever the engine is running at low RPMs or idle. This prevents overheating, reduces wear on the pump components, and allows the operator to pause or adjust flow without shutting the machine down, ensuring continuous readiness.

Engine and Pump in Perfect Harmony

The AquaJet’s exceptional performance comes from the seamless integration of its engine and pump. The Honda iGX800 delivers consistent torque and power, while the Speck triplex pump converts that energy into precise water pressure and flow.

This synergistic pairing also reduces wear and maintenance requirements. By managing load automatically, the system extends the life of critical components while maintaining smooth and reliable operation, even under the most demanding commercial conditions.

Drainage work rarely comes with ideal conditions, which is why the iGX800’s STR governor automatically regulates engine speed to match demand. Combined with the pump’s precision, this ensures steady performance whether clearing domestic blockages or tackling large commercial pipework. An automatic choke simplifies starting and reduces maintenance, making the AquaJet easy to operate and service.

Benefits for Contractors

The Honda iGX800 and Speck pump bring tangible advantages for AquaJet users:

  • Lower running costs with improved fuel efficiency.
  • Longer engine and pump life thanks to robust design and smart controls.
  • Less downtime with simplified maintenance and reduced adjustments.
  • Consistent power output for smooth operation under heavy loads.
  • Cleaner operation with reduced emissions to meet modern environmental standards.

Built for Demanding Applications

Compact yet powerful, the iGX800 integrates seamlessly into the AquaJet’s compact frame to produce a jetting machine with a dry weight of just over 300kg. Paired with the Speck pump, contractors get a machine that’s designed to be used in smaller commercial vehicles, yet capable of handling the most challenging jetting tasks.

For drainage professionals, equipment reliability is non-negotiable. By combining the Honda iGX800 engine with the Speck triplex plunger pump, Rioned has created a next-generation AquaJet that delivers power, precision, and reliability day after day. It’s not just an engine upgrade, it’s a complete system designed for the future of drain jetting.
