Rioned Strengthens Its JetVac Line-Up with the Urban-Ready MaxCom 18T
Rioned has announced the launch of the MaxCom, a new 18-tonne jetting and vacuum combination unit developed specifically for demanding urban environments. Expanding on the proven success of Rioned’s compact jetvac platforms, including the widely adopted RioCom, the MaxCom offers increased capacity and performance while maintaining the manoeuvrability required for city streets and restricted-access sites.
Rather than competing to be the largest tanker on the market, the MaxCom has been engineered as a balanced 18-tonne solution, delivering the pressure, suction and on-site productivity contractors need, without sacrificing access, control or operator confidence.
As sewer infrastructure ages and maintenance windows tighten, operators are under growing pressure to complete more work per shift while navigating increasingly congested environments. The MaxCom responds by combining an 8,000-litre split tank configuration with proven jetting and vacuum performance, advanced controls and a refined chassis platform designed for practical urban deployment.
“We’ve seen strong demand for compact, highly capable jetvac units like the RioCom,” said Jan Pieters, Managing Director at Rioned. “The MaxCom builds on that success by giving contractors more capacity and endurance, while still offering the manoeuvrability and balance needed for urban operations. It’s not about being the biggest, it’s about delivering the right performance in the right footprint.”
Built for extended operations and higher productivity
The MaxCom is mounted on a MAN TGM 18.320 4x2 chassis and features an 8,000-litre Rioned combi tank, configured with 7,000 litres of waste capacity and 1,000 litres of clean water. This layout allows operators to manage larger blockages and longer runs while reducing time lost to emptying and refilling.
“At this weight class, capacity makes a real difference,” said Pieters. “The 8,000-litre configuration gives operators the flexibility to tackle more complex urban jobs in a single visit.”
The welded steel tank is sandblasted inside and out and protected with an internal anti-corrosive epoxy coating. A hydraulically operated rear door, mechanical level indicator, and internal cleaning nozzles support faster turnaround between jobs.
Proven jetting and suction performance
Jetting performance is delivered by the SPECK / RIONED P55 high-pressure pump, producing 200 bar at 100 lpm (2900psi @ 22gpm). Vacuum performance comes from the Jurop DL180 HDR air-cooled vacuum pump, delivering up to 17,600 litres per minute (1,056 m3 / hour) free airflow.
This combination provides consistent performance across a wide range of applications, from routine sewer cleaning to heavy debris removal. Full pressure regulation from 0 to 200 bar allows operators to adapt output to the task at hand.
“In a competitive market, reliability matters more than headline figures,” said Pieters. “By using proven pump technology that operators already trust, we’ve focused on dependable performance day after day.”
Operator-focused control and safety systems
The MaxCom is equipped with eControl Plus as standard, providing centralised control of all key functions, along with clear system feedback and diagnostics. Operators can start and stop the engine, control pump functions, manage hose reels, and adjust engine speed from a single interface.
An 11-channel RioMote remote control allows full operation from the job site, improving safety and reducing the need for operators to work close to traffic or confined areas. “As combination units get larger, ease of use becomes critical,” said Pieters. “Remote operation, clear feedback, and built-in safety systems are no longer optional. They are expected.” Safety features include run dry protection on the clean water tank, over and under-pressure valves, thermal monitoring of hydraulic oil, and emergency stop functionality for the complete unit.
Designed for long-term value
The MaxCom has been engineered with durability and lifecycle cost in mind. The 6mm-thick vacuum tank, integrated filtration systems, internal tank-cleaning nozzles, and comprehensive pump protection all contribute to reduced wear and longer service intervals.
Built-in storage for hoses, tools, and accessories, along with hose reels for jetting, suction, and filling, ensures the vehicle remains practical and efficient in daily use. “Customers are thinking long term,” said Pieters. “They want a vehicle that holds its value, minimises downtime, and performs consistently over many years. The MaxCom has been designed with exactly that expectation.”
Setting a new benchmark in the 18-tonne segment
With its combination of high-capacity tanks, powerful jetting and suction systems, intelligent controls, and operator-led design, the Rioned MaxCom sets a strong new benchmark in the 18-tonne jetvac segment.
“The demand for larger, smarter combination units is not slowing down,” concluded Pieters. “With the MaxCom, Rioned continues to deliver solutions that meet today’s operational requirements and are ready for the challenges ahead.”
